Roughly how many wildebeest take part in the Serengeti's Great Migration each year?

Answer

1,300,000 wildebeest

Some 300,000 zebras and 400,000 gazelles travel alongside the herds, and around 250,000 wildebeest die en route each year — feeding everything from crocodiles to vultures. It held the title of largest land-mammal migration until 2024 surveys of South Sudan's ~6-million-antelope Great Nile Migration.
